  1. Quoting President Ahmadinejad’s address before the UNGA:

“Let me draw your attention to some data issued by the United Nations:

“…. – In many countries, the majority of the people are deprived of access to education and schooling.

“- In developing countries, the maternal mortality rate during pregnancy is 450 per 100,000. This ratio is 7 in the richer nations and the ratio of mortality of new births is 59 for developing countries and 6 for the richer nations.

“- One-third of deaths in the world, or 50,000 persons daily, result from poverty.

“I believe this data clearly demonstrates the tragic situation dominating economic interactions in the world.”

Clearly Ahmadinejad is attempting to attack the U.S.A. or other western nations.
He raises many valid points. But it’s a shame that he mindlessly places all the world’s problems at their feet, such as the above.
This does nothing more than invalidate his entire speech, indeed makes he himself look laughable.
I hate to see valid points tossed away so selfishly, in such a self-centered manner. (Is his goal to make children giggle!?)
…Because he would otherwise have the power to make serious people listen.

It’s a shame that like Bush and so many of our modern politicians, all Ahmadinejad can do is appeal to the angry “torch and pitchfork” mobs. Until this changes, rightfully, nobody but their own mindless loyalists will take them seriously.

I think the World deserves better.

  2. Ahmadinejad is confronting, not merely attacking, the US and its satellites with the approval/collusion of the UNGA as being directly responsible for a great deal of the human misery facing the world today.
And rightly so. Ahmadinejad, as a skillful statesman, directly addressed America’s high handed hypocrisy: it’s illegal and criminal invasion of Iraq, with the UN’S support based on lies and deception. He addressed the plunder of the country by gov/corporate sponsered contractors such as Halliburton and the resulting displacement of its people . He spoke of civilian genocide and of the US gov’t support and funding to last years denounced terrorist groups within Iraq and the funding/money/weapons to all sides with concious designs of using ethnic divisions and the resulting ethnic cleansing to section off Iraq . A divided Iraq is the only way that full plunder would be possible.
Ahmadinejad spoke also of American funding and support for terrorist groups presently operating within Iran.
Further Ahmadinejad addressed the 60 year illegal occupation/theft/ torture/genocide of Palestineians by Israel, with FULL US SPONSERSHIP/BACKING/COOPERATION .
Iran is presently facing the“torch and pitchfork” mobs”intent on her destruction .The mob (US and Britan plus of course Israel with her undeclared Nuclear arsenal and a non member within the body that recognizes Iran’s legal right to obtain N.power for peaceful purposes and has determined that Iran’s present program is operating within that framework) has hypocritically threatened attack with possible use of nuclear weapons to both get at her resources and to make sure that no one interfers with the grand imperial design underway in the Middle East. The president of Iran entered this high -stake meeting at the UNGA to challenge the members of the UN- an organization in the pocket of the US- to stand up to the murdering bully who sanctimoniously cries and raves about democracy and benevolency but is guilty of unbridled murder/rape/genocide/pillage and plunder .
Most outside the US see the Bollinger circus and the demonizing of both Iran and its President as the corporate media ‘s attemts to sidetrack/distract its citizens from the real issue which is American led war/greed for plunder/

Your comments,”Clearly Ahmadinejad is attempting to attack the U.S.A. or other western nations.
